In the evening of February 2, 2018, in Bibb County, Georgia, 16-year-old Kevon Watkins wanted to play an online video game, but the internet connection was too poor.
He changed the router password so that no one else in the house will be able to use the internet. This angered his mother who entered his room and took his video game console, but Kevon charged against her threatening to beat her up.
When his elder sister, 19-year-old Alexus Watkins intervened trying to stand between Kevon and their mother, he quickly grabbed her and held her in a chokehold and refused to let go.
His mother called 911, but before the responders came it was already too late. Alexus had lost her life.
Kevon was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.
